  Hungary - Monok
Monok was named after the Monoky/Monaky family, who were the owners of the settlement from the 14th century.
It was built to be used as a manorial steward's house in the style of the period of Louis XIV in 1780-82.
At the end of the 17th century the castle of Monok became the property of the Thököly and the Andrássy families.

Pestiside: "Greatest Hungarian" Still a Great Mystery   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-17)
While most historians agree that Kossuth was born in the village of Monok in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, according to the Hungarian edition of National Geographic, some people in nearby Olaszliszka - or "Liszka," as they call it - are now claiming the great man as their most famous son.
Domokos Kosáry, the former president of the Hungarian Scientific Academy, says that Kossuth was born in Monok in 1802, but concedes that the birth certificate that would prove this was burned in 1810, meaning that no one can say for sure that the statesman was born on his "official" birthday, September 18th.
This has led to speculation that Kossuth was born in October, though Kosáry and other experts on the matter insist it was September, and most likely sometime between September 16th and 19th.

No damage to the airframe, but sure enough the Monokote cracked and tore in three places instead of stretching a bit all because the fuse flexed a bit on impact, and the monoK is so darned brittle.
After a couple more flights I noticed it starting to peel in a couple other spots, which has always frustrated me back when I used this stuff before.
