The command posts of Companies "A" and "C" established in Montargis upon its liberation on the 23rd remained in the city during the period, with antitank positions covering all bridges and approaches to the city form the east, southeast and northeast.
Women, and girl friends of the Germans, were disrobed, their heads shaven, hand tied behind them and paraded around the main sections of the city in the nude, guarded by FFI with horse whips, who would occasionally lash one just of the hell of it.
