Monterrey and its metropolitan area is served by General Mariano Escobedo International Airport (IATA Airport Code: MTY), which connects the city with most of Mexico and North America, and with Europe.
Perhaps the most traditional dish from Monterrey is cabrito al pastor, a young goat cooked in embers based on the Jewish cuisine of the founders of the city.
