Uruguay's president was out of town Thursday, but his office issued a communiqué saying ``the internal situation in the three branches of the armed forces is one of calm and full acceptance of the government's decision.''
The meeting included two-time former President Julio María Sanguinetti, former Defense Minister Yamandú Fau and at least two army generals, Pedro Aguerre and Miguel Dalmao, who were put under military arrest for five days.
