New Jersey's Twelfth Congressional District, covering all of Hunterdon County and portions of Middlesex County, Monmouth County, Morris County, and Somerset County, is represented by Rush D. Holt Jr.
The 15th legislative district of the New Jersey Legislature is represented in the State Senate by Shirley Turner (D, Ewing) and in the Assembly by Reed Gusciora (D, Trenton) and Bonnie Watson Coleman (D, Trenton).

Montgomery Township is a Township in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States.
In the township the population was spread out with 32.9% under the age of 18, 3.9% from 18 to 24, 31.9% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 6.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
Montgomery Township is in the Seventh Congressional District and is part of New Jersey's 16th Legislative District.

Montgomery Township's population grew by twenty-seven percent (27.6%) in six years (1990-1996) and school enrollments increased by over eighty-three in seven (83.29%, 1991-1997) [spreadsheet].
Less common, more particular to Montgomery's growth is an accumulation of building approvals issued since 1989 which, in the strong state economy of the past few years, has driven new housing starts from 60 in 1990 to 304 in the first half of 1998.
New Jersey enrollment growth, specifically, which was 14.2 percent over the past decade is projected at 2.6 percent between 1997 and 2007.

A group of anti-hunting activists protested a deer hunt that was established to bring the skyrocketing deer population in a New Jersey suburb under control.
In September, the Township Committee approved a measure allowing hunters to apply for 65 permits to hunt on 650 acres of township open space.
A controlled hunt is the most effective and efficient method to reduce deer populations and the WLFA supports the Montgomery Township’s decision to allow sportsmen to cull their herd.
