The metro system serves 284 million riders a year, and according to the STM website, as of 2006, over 6 billion people have used the metro system, which is equivalent to the world's population.
The Montreal Metro nonetheless continues to be numbered as if this proposed line had been constructed as Line 3 of the Metro.
The Metro's doors begin to open before the train is at a compelete stop so the door pannels are fully retracted by the time the train is a dead stop and there is no delay waiting for doors to open, the doors begin to open in the last 4-8 meters before the stop point.
