THE FIRST vehicle seizure in Montrose under anti-social behaviour legislation should serve as a warning to "nuisance" drivers in the area, a local councillor has said.
The vehicle was confiscated by local police earlier this month, one of seven seizures across Angus since the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2004 was introduced.
Angus Council's infrastructure services committee has backed the £55,000 plan in principle as well as agreeing to the preparation of more detailed design and cost estimates.

The Montrose Basin is part of the estuary of the South Esk forming a tidal basin near to the town of Montrose, Angus, on the north-east coast of Scotland.
The Montrose Basin Heritage Society was formed in 1999 to bring together information about the basin, including its history and archaeology.
The basin has been exploited for its seafood, at one time Montrose was Scotland's second largest exporter of salmon and mussel cultivation gave it the largest mussel beds in the kingdom during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The donation of £10,000 will be used to provide a much-needed refreshment area, with a bartop, gantry, the provision of washing-up facilities with added running water and sinks and the modernisation of part of the kitchen.
Tom Mahon, GSK Montrose Site Director, commented: "It was felt that a contribution for the whole community would be an excellent way to mark the 50th anniversary of our site and when the town hall was suggested it was seen as the perfect way to do this.
Angus Council recently carried out a survey of all its halls, and an update on the situation at Montrose Town Hall will be the subject of a presentation to Montrose Area Forum on Tuesday 4 March at 7.30pm in Montrose Academy.
