  Emotions and the Moon
Perhaps that child is born with Moon in Capricorn, showing that the mother is now more serious and intent on business, with less left over to give the child when the work day is finished.
To take another example, sometimes a child with Moon in Libra (or other crucial placements in that sign) is conceived because the mother feels it will cement a marriage that is breaking apart (or, if not yet married, in the hope it will induce the man to marry her).
Paradoxically, Moon in Pisces, which is potentially the most emotional, constantly attempts to escape from unpleasant feelings, leading in some cases to an addictive personality or to living in a fantasy world.

 [KFCC] Moon Child Review
From brighter moments and thriving kinships, to an unraveling alliance and heartless fallouts, the relationships formed between the characters in Moon Child are truly the life force behind the story at hand.
We follow him through his early youth as a small child pulling scams on the local triads, to his budding days of adulthood, still pulling scams on the triads (albeit of a more violent nature), and ultimately his position as one of the more powerful yakuza in the area.
Overall, Moon Child is a very entertaining, character driven picture about the necessity of friendship.

 Moon and Child development
The moon is instinctive, it is intuitive and empathetic, and it is aware of the fluctuating emotional environment and responds to it.
The Moon also represents how we need to be nurtured, what we look for, what we consider to be nurturing, bearing in mind one persons idea of nurturing can be quite different from another's.
It is very important to examine closely the condition of the moon in the horoscope as this can tell you more than any other single planet as to how the individual will relate to the rest of the world and how they feel about themselves.

Rambles: Simone Maroney, Moon Child   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-10)
Hanna is the child of a fateful and forbidden pairing, with the magical talents of both parents.
Perhaps the episodic nature of Moon Child is to blame for the sketchiness of its peripheral characters, but even Hanna comes across as more of a victim of her world than its heroine: her defining characteristics are her sweetness and resilience.
That's not to say that Moon Child doesn't contain certain scenes of interest; a number of the rituals Hanna performs or undergoes, from embalming to healing, are described with a good eye for detail, and the defensive lessons Hanna receives from her grandmother have a thought-provoking and rather Eastern logic to them.

In a child's chart, we look to the position of the Moon to understand the child's perception of his mother, of his need to be cared for and to nurture.
The child born with this aspect is usually loyal and dependable.
Venus in the child's chart shows us what kinds of things our child appreciates, his innate sense of beauty (which can be developed), the manner in which he interacts with his friends and with adults, and how he shows love.

Horror Bob Presents: The Horror Review - Egregious Gurnow's Review of "Moon Child" (2003 )
The only time in which Kei’s vampirism comes to the forefront of the film is during one of Moon Child’s most overwhelming scenes: Sho begs his friend to feed upon his wife because Yi-Che’s tumor is found to be malignant (much in the same manner as seen in Robert Siodmak’s Son of Dracula).
Moon Child is a masterfully well-made epic exploring many pertinent themes in an arresting, visually appealing manner which few filmmakers today can claim to hold a light.
As such, Moon Child is a treat and a treasure, not only of Eastern, but of world cinema.

Like many of our favorite gangster films, MOON CHILD traces the history of its characters from childhood and/or adolescence through their descent into the real world, sometimes over a span of several generations.
And the first third of MOON CHILD looks like a bit like an Asian DAWSON’S CREEK with all that blonde-streaked hair, those meandering folky tunes, and the promise of budding romance.
The vampire themes that MOON CHILD addresses are not necessarily new — the gift or curse of immortality, the dilemma of the vampire with a conscience, what it means to be immortal and how painful it is to watch the mortals around you confront their, well, mortality.

Japanese Movie Review | Moon Child (2003) Gackt Camui, Hyde
"Moon Child" is the product of a big budget, likening it, in many ways, to the Hong Kong offering "The Twins Effect".
The first thing of note is "Moon Child's" use of Kei as a brooding vampire in a story that is essentially a generic Rise and Fall of the Gangster movie.
"Moon Child" is visually very pleasing, but the problem is that the film just doesn't know when to cut its losses and move on.

The Moon does not have an atmosphere, so temperatures range from -184 degrees Celsius during its night to 214 degrees Celsius during its day except at the poles where the temperature is a constant -96 degrees Celsius.
As the Moon travels eastward in its orbit, more of its sunlit side becomes visible to Earth and the Moon is said to be "waxing".
As the Moon travels further around in its orbit, the lit portion of the Moon visible to Earth becomes smaller, so the Moon is now said to be "waning" as it enters the next phase.

Monsters At Play: Moon Child Review
Moon Child falls squarely in between those two designations, making it a movie that's too drab to be truly silly, and too derivative to be consistently engaging.
Borrowing elements from a dozen disparate sources, 'Moon Child' tells the story of two teenage thugs, one who's a low-level criminal and one who's a centuries-old vampire.
A lightweight concoction comprised of equal parts John Woo, Martin Scorsese and Anne Rice inspiration, 'Moon Child' bites off way more than it can possibly chew and the result is a movie that's intriguing in fits and starts - but mostly dry and silly throughout.

Moon Child is actually a modern version of "Little Mermaid".
The main female character, Benjamin, was a mermaid from the Moon and she was in the "pre-mature" form so when people saw her, they only saw a "tomboy"-like girl.
The mermaids believe that the only way for them to propagate was first to have the child of Benjamin and Nashiu, whose father was the betrothed of Benjamin's mother but never married her because she fell in love with a human prince.

His image is interesing, but still, a film written by and starring not one but two singers should be enough to elicit a groan on my end.
Oddly enough, whatever story trying to be told isn’t told interestingly enough, and perhaps the most interesting part of the film for me ends up being Gackt’s acting and presence.
While Moon Child holds all these commercial elements like vampires, gang wars and stylish action, they all seem to take a back seat to the friendships between the main characters, and what seems to be some commentary on ethnic groups and how we should all just get along.
