What is not always fully appreciated is the markedly different metaphysical and theological framework or ontology the Reformers brought to their understanding and practice of church and ministry.
Understand their practice against a framework different from one we may assume is prevalent in the church at large, then the significance of that practice may take on a radically different meaning.
