I'm not a big expert...but after travelling there and being rather taken by many varieties of Thai music, especially the mor lam sing, which is pop music from the Northeast...came back to America and starting buying what little there is available.
The most available Thai classical music is from a group called Fong Naam- this is well worth exploring in depth.
