Alfred Morang was born in Ellsworth Maine in 1901, he studied music, painting, and literature in Boston, where he earned a master’s degree in Fine Arts..
His paintings were of a powerful impressionistic style often sculpted in thick impasto paint with a pallet knife, interpreting the area landscape and the local characters.
Morang worked as an artist for the Works Progress Administration (WPA), taught at the Arsuna School of Fine Arts and founded the Morang School of Fine Art in Santa Fe.

 NEPAL: Re-arrest of four people by the police in the court yard in the presence of the lawyers
According to the prison records in Morang, the four victims were given detention orders on the same day (15 January 2004) for preventive detention under Public Security Act (PSA) for 90 days.
When the person who detained under this Act is released, the PSA states that the person should be released in the presence of the judge of the district court or the registrar in his absence.
It is also reported that these four persons were very afraid to be released because they thought that they would be executed or disappeared once they get released so they asked the prison authorities to release them only in the presence of persons from independent institutions or bodies.

The name came form the Parish of Morang, which was named after an Aboriginal word thought to mean cloudy or sky.
Mernda was known as Morang until 1893, then South Yan Yean and finally as Mernda from 1913.

South Morang in the City of Whittlesea, is on the rural NNE fringe of Melbourne but has a growing urban residential population estimated to rise to approximately 25,000 by 2016.
FOSM Inc. was formed in December 2001 at a public meeting of concerned residents who met to discuss the proposed development of a skate facility in the Riverside Reserve at South Morang.
Membership is open to residents of the City of Whittlesea of any age or people from other municipalities who share the objectives of the Association for a once off joining fee of $8.00 ($3.00 entrance fee + $5.00 for 12 month membership) and an annual renewal each year afterwards of $5.00.

Nearly 10 per cent of Nepal’s AIDS-related deaths have occcured in the border district of Morang, according to health officials.
In 1999, AIDS had claimed the lives of 10 people in the district of Morang, an area which borders India, 290 km south-east of here, the Kathmandu Post said, quoting an official from the HIV/AIDS Coordination Section (HCS) in Morang.
Another 115 people in Morang are believed to be infected with the Human Immune-deficiency Virus (HIV) that leads to Acquired Immune Deficieny Syndrome (AIDS) – again nearly 10 per cent of the 1,500 estimated to be HIV-positive acorss the whole country.

It is great that both of these sides are first on the ladder in their divisions.
I am trying to picture South Morang trying to take on either West Preston, or Panton hill, and I just can't see them doing well against the quality of these sides.
Although I hate that the top teams in second division have to play each other twice (Mernda has to play Watsonia, Lalor, Hurstbridge and Whittlesea twice), but i'm glad that the Panton hill's, the Macleod's and to a lesser extent the Fawkner Park's and the Reservoir's are doing well.

A report from Morang said a Maoist was killed in a clash with security forces at Larikata of Rangeli VDC-7, on Sunday night.
