		The Shire of Morawa is situated in the North Midlands area due North of Perth and East South East of Geraldton.
		Morawa townsite is approximately 370 km by road North of Perth (via Three Springs) and 180 km from Geraldton.

		Recognizing jaundice, Morawa went to his doctor and was eventually diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
		It was then an experimental treatment, developed in the laboratory at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, that gave Morawa the hope that he could beat one of the most deadly types of cancer.
		Morawa, whose yellowing eyes tipped him off to pancreatic cancer, is now more than six years out from his treatment and remains cancer free.

		Morawa is a townsite in the northern agricutlural area.
		When the railway was being planned in 1913 Morawa was approved as the name of one of the stations, and the lands deparment decided that land should also be set aside for a townsite there.
		However, the railway department, which had pressed for the change, did not alter the name of the railway siding from Morawa, and after local representation the name was changed back to Morawa in June 1922.
