Morden, indeed, was responsible for many of the most serious map-making efforts of the period, including both highly influential and financially successful publications relating to America.
Together with the Morden and Berry map published earlier in 1676 and the Woodcut map of New England by Foster published in Boston and London the following year, this is the primary vehicle for the dissemination of the William Reed cartography.
Morden and Berry's map also appears to stand alone in the use of the Reed cartography, as their version is quite distinct from all other printed versions, suggesting that a somewhat different manuscript copy of the William Reed map in particular was used by Morden and Berry as distinct from all other map-makers.
