	Districts of Madhya Pradesh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		In 1998 and 1999, seven new districts were created: Barwani district was split from West Nimar, Dindori district was split from Mandla, Harda district was split from Hoshangabad, Katni district was split from Jabalpur, Neemuch district was split from Mandsaur, Sheopur district was split from Morena, and Umaria district was split from Shahdol.
		Another nine districts were created in the eastern portion of the state, which became the new state of Chhattisgarh on November 1, 2000.
		On August 15, 2003, three new districts were created; Anuppur district was split from Shahdol, Ashoknagar district was split from Guna, and Burhanpur district was split from Khandwa (East Nimar).

		MYSTERY surrounds the death of large number of peacocks in the villages of Maharajpura and Sitapur in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh between June 24 and July 8.
		While unofficial estimates put the toll at 80, the district administration says that 13 pe acocks died in Maharajpura during the fortnight and 31 died in Sitapur on July 7 and 8.

		Twenty-nine more peacocks were found dead on Saturday in Sitapur village of Morena district in Madhya Pradesh taking the death toll in the past few days to 80.
