Edward Woods was born in Morgan County, Indiana, July 12, 1848, and is one of the five children composing the family of Patrick and Mary (Doughery) Woods, natives of Ireland and Ohio respectively.
Patrick Woods was born in 1811, emigrated to America, and in 1843 to the State of Ohio, where he married the same year, and afterward moved to Morgan County, Indiana, and settled on the identical land where our subject now resides, which was his home until his death in 1865.
