Morgoth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-20)
Morgoth created an army of Balrogs, or fire demons, but they were destroyed by the Valar and Morgoth was overthrown.
As the mightiest dweller in Arda, Morgoth's chief servants were certain Maiar he corrupted: Sauron, later the Dark Lord of Mordor and his Chief Lieutenant; Gothmog, the Lord of Balrogs and High-Captain of Angband; Glaurung, the Father of Dragons; and Ancalagon the Black, greatest of the Winged Dragons.
Morgoth did not trust any of them and considered them all his inferiors.

 Morgoth
Tolkien's universe, Middle-earth, Morgoth Bauglir (Morgoth means 'Black Enemy', Bauglir is 'The Constrainer'), originally Melkor, was to begin with the most powerful of the Valar, and he contended with Eru himself in the Music of the Ainur.
They made immediate and devastating war on him, and he was brought to Valinor in chains to serve a term in the Halls of Mandos for three Ages[?].
He was shut outside the gates of the world forever (or at least until the rumored Final Battle when he supposedly returns to fight a united army of Valar, Maiar, Elves and Men).

Morgoth's Ring - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Morgoth's Ring is the 10th volume of Christopher Tolkien's 12-volume series The History of Middle-earth in which he analyses the unpublished manuscripts of his father J.
This volume along with the subsequent The War of the Jewels provides detailed writings and editorial commentary pertaining to J. Tolkien's cosmology that eventually would become The Silmarillion.
The title of this volume comes from a statement from one of the essays: "Just as Sauron concentrated his power in the One Ring, Morgoth dispersed his power into the very matter of Arda, thus 'the whole of Middle-earth was Morgoth's Ring'".

 Metallian.com - Morgoth
Morgoth was one of the biggest lost opportunities of the early '90s death metal movement.
Despite the success Morgoth moved away first from death metal and eventually from heavy music and by 1996's Feel Sorry For The Fanatic it was the fanatics who were feeling sorry for the band.
The double-disc, The Best Of Morgoth, chronicles the band's development even as it mostly demonstrates that what metal fans really need is to go out and obtain the Resurrection Absurd and Eternal Fall MCDs (although appropriately most of the discs are here) and the Cursed full-length.

'Morgoth' is the name of the first Dark Lord used throughout the First Age, after he was given this name by Fëanor.
After his theft of the Silmarils and Darkening of Valinor, Morgoth fled the Valar, and returned to Middle-earth with Ungoliant before the beginning of the First Age.
The history of that Age is the history of the hopeless wars of the Noldor against Morgoth.

Morgoth, at right, is scared with the spider, although this a really quick sketch, and the characters were almost an immediate thing.
And while Morgoth was afraid of Ungoliant, I don't think it was the kind of fear he would show, but more of a way of dealing with the beast.
I like how your morgoth is humanised, all that i read in tolkien, visually, is that he's this big ass suite of armor.

For though the time of the awakening of Men is not known, even the calculations of the loremasters that place it earliest do not assign it a date long before the Great March began, certainly not long enough before it to allow for the corruption of Men into Orcs.
On the other hand, it is plain that soon after his return Morgoth had at his command a great number of these creatures, with whom he ere long began to attack the Elves.
There was still less time between his return and these first assaults for the breeding of Orcs and for the transfer of their hosts westward.”....“This view of the origin of the Orcs thus meets with difficulties of chronology.

 Morgoth's Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien and Christopher Tolkien : Booksamillion.com (0395680921, Hardcover)
In Morgoth's Ring, the tenth volume of The History of Middle-earth and the first of two companion volumes, Christopher Tolkien describes and documents the legends of the Elder Days, as they were evolved and transformed by his father in the years after he completed The Lord of the Rings.
The text of the Annals of Aman, the "Blessed Land" in the far West, is given in full.
Incomparably greater than the power of Sauron, concentrated in the One Ring, Morgoth's power (Tolkien wrote) was dispersed into the very matter of Arda: "the whole of Middle-earth was Morgoth's Ring".

What is Angband   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-20)
Angband was a mighty fortified citadel originally constructed by Morgoth (Melkor) in the earliest days of the world as an outlying fortress to his northern stronghold of Utumno.
Utumno was destroyed by the Valar, and Morgoth imprisoned in Valinor for three ages, but on his return to Middle-earth, he took Angband as the seat of his power, and raised the towers of Thangorodrim above its gates.
Angband was besieged by the Noldor during the early part of the First Age, but the Siege of Angband was broken at the Dagor Bragollach.

The story of Luthien and Beren is a clear example where Elvish marriage was painted as a sacrament of much greater importance and reverence than the ceremony normally is given.

The most recent addition to the Regult LAPs' arsenal, the Morgoth is a missile with a large, thin cased warhead optimized for fragmentation and blast effect.
Using a segmented design, with the guidance and warhead section up front, a wasp-waisted connecting section behind the warhead and the engine section with the four standard radar aerials in the back, the Morgoth is the slowest and least ranged missile available to the Regult LAP.
However, its range is quite sufficient for battlefield use, and the effects of a hit are usually devastating.

 BNR Metal Pages -- Morgoth
Morgoth was an early signee to the Century Media label, and one of the earliest German death metal bands.
Their early works were standard for the time, though a shade less brutal than the prevalent American style at that time, while the last two albums attempted to broaden their sound with industrial/electronic influences.
They disbanded following their last release, 1996's Feel Sorry For The Fanatic.
