 Mori Motonari
Motonari was born Shojumaru, the second son of Môri Hiromoto, a daimyo who struggled against the local Takeda clan (not to be confused with the Kai branch of that family) and the encroaching Oûchi.
Motonari's eldest son and heir, a onetime goodwill hostage of the Oûchi, was Takamoto, the father of the future Môri Terumoto.
Motonari then assaulted the confused Sue troops from behind, and the result was a rout for Sue Harukata, who committed suicide at Oenoura, a small island inlet.

 Oda Nobunaga's Wars Part II
Motonari never wanted to ride to Kyoto with hundreds of thousands of men and be a Shogun or something; and his sons -- both didn't use the dad's last name, each had one clan of his own; Kikkawa Motoharu and Kobayakawa Takakage -- never wanted supremacy over Japan either.
Alas, the late Mori Motonari's way in conquering was so thorough that even while he let the crushed warlords and their offsprings live, they really got nothing to live for.
Mori Motonari had beaten them up so badly that they now had neither a home or title, yet the overall profiles of the hundred or so of the remaining clansmen promised something good to Toyotomi's keen eyes -- these were real warriors and loyal vassals if they would be Oda Nobunaga's.

But on 1540, the Siege of Koriyama against Mori Motonari ended in a humiliating defeat, and many of his retainers defected believing that Haruhisa's days are numbered.
While it is known largely from various fictions that emphasize Mori Motonari's prowess, that Motonari had Haruhisa kill to weaken his power, it is most likely that this was a move to solidify the Amago clan tighter under Haruhisa himself.
When Sue Harutaka lost against Mori Motonari dying in the Battle of Itsukushima, Haruhisa saw an opportunity to claim Iwami and making an alliance with Ogasawara clan of Iwami, moved to claim Omori Silver Mine.
