FROZEN SECRETS by Bill Warnock - 'Between The Lines'   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-12)
Part historical and part fictional it is based around and dedicated to the brave Japanese journalist and novelist Seiichi Morimura who published his expose of Section 731 and the camp at Harbin, Manchuria in "The Devil's Gluttony".
Warnock explained recently that his first reaction was shock when he discovered Morimura's expose and immediately jumped on a plane to Tokyo to delve further into this mammoth and historical divulgence.
What he wasn't prepared for, however, was that some of the figures behind these crimes against humanity held high political office and would think nothing of ordering the execution of anyone (Japanese or European) who dared to take the topic one step further.

Mixed in with this are major plot twists related to a massacre where almost all of the residents of a village are chopped to pieces.
The original story by Seiichi Morimura was inspired by the My Lai Massacre during the Vietnam War where on March 16, 1968 US soldiers killed as many as 500 Vietnamese civilians.
The only reason anyone survived was due to the intervention of a US Army helicopter crew who dropped into the middle of the carnage and threatened to fire on fellow American soldiers.
