 A Disgruntled Moriquendi - Alleria
For the past hour, the young Moriquendi has been attempting to hear a bit of news from far-away provinces, but to no avail; to him, it seems as if the only thing people ever talk about in the gods-forsaken tavern are trivial little issues and meaningless stories.
It is highly unlikely that anyone would talk to the Moriquendi; if they notice him standing amongst the shadowy corners of the room, they are likely to ignore him and move on to more exciting sections of the massive tavern.
As the moriquendi surveyed the room for the third time whe noticed a figure standing in the corner and Altar had the feeleng that he should recognize the man. So after a breef hesitation Altar quickly closed the distance between them.

As a result, the light elves’ hatred of the Moriquendi is not as severe as their hatred of Vysstichi, and, on the rare occasion an Eli’tha is found on light elven lands, they are never molested.
The Moriquendi, particularly the Eli’tha, completely avoid the Vysstichi Moriquendi if it is possible, as their history has created an even larger rift with the Vysstichi than it has with the light elves.
The outside Moriquendi have, over history, attempted to bridge their gap with humans, dwarves, and other surface races, but are hindered by their dark elf classification, although Eli’tha rarely ever have contact with races outside of the Moriquendi.

As the language of desire, the mode through which the forbidden may be indulged, fantasy often betrays the ever-present, ever-pervasive desire of Western culture for the presence of the feminized Other.
Or, by their Noldor brethren, the Sindar: the Moriquendi culture which is most often placed in opposition to the Noldor in both canon and fan culture.
These representations of the Moriquendi reflect our prevailing need for the existence of the inferior Other: the Other who aids in the construction of our own superiority and goodness by the very baseness of their nature.

I presume that the Grey Elves of the Havens were descended from the Grey Elves of coastlands of Beleriand (also Moriquendi).
This might also relate to other questions I've seen regarding whether or not Legolas was the same Legolas that fought in Gondolin–that Legolas was one of Turgon's folk, a Noldor, and Legolas in the Fellowship was, as a Wood Elf, presumably not a Noldor.
