To develop a realistic reservoir model for the Pennsylvanian carbonate platform succession in Tengiz (Oksky to Bashkirian), age-equivalent outcrops of a platform in Asturias (N Spain) were investigated.
The platform in Asturias was rotated in a near vertical position during Late Moscovian thrusting but remained intact.
In Asturias, a succession of three Moscovian shoaling cycles was analyzed.

The Pennsylvanian organic buildups from the northeastern Cantabrian Zone (Pico de Europa Unit and Ponga Nappe) occur in different topographic settings of a foreland basin with an adjoining external carbonate platform during synorogenic to later orogenic stages.
During ther Moscovian the typical Donetzella mounds of the Serpukhovian and Bashkirian were replaced by equivalent shallow water communities of beresellid algae (Dvinella, Beresella, Uraloporella), chaetetids and corals.
The decline of chaetetid dominated bioconstructions at the end of the Moscovian and the rise of algal dominated structures is a globally observed phenomenon.

Wewnętrzny portret - Piłsudski, the Liberator
For safety, and to confuse the Moscovian police, Lenin and Trotsky occasionally lived in Krakow where with Piłsudski, using the pseudonym of Dziadek (Granddaddy), they would meet in Michalik's Cafe, just a few strides away from my art academy.
This did not happen in Poland, for the Polish Liberator knew the character of the subhuman Yetinsyny and foresaw that sooner or later, he would have to deal with a race of psychotic killers.
He had a far greater task before him, for, while the Moscovian leaders had the gigantic Russian Empire to dethrone, he alone had two other Empires (German and Austrian) to unseat before his Poland could be freed.

ORIGIN OF THE FUSULINID PROFUSULINELLA IN EURASIA AND NORTH AMERICA   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
The fusulinid genus Profusulinella appeared in sub-Arctic North America in Medial Atokan (= Early Moscovian) time, roughly 4 to 5 My later than its oldest known occurrence in the Eurasian-Arctic province.
The genus originated in the latter area in late Early Bashkirian time and then underwent significant diversification, so that by Early Moscovian time a variety of shell morphologies existed.
The first sub-Arctic North American species in the genus are interpreted as immigrants from Eurasia, with their migration through the Franklinian corridor having been facilitated by generally east-to-west currents during a glacio-eustatic flooding event.
