MOSCOW, MI The charming stick-style depot in Moscow, Michigan was built by the Michigan and Ohio Railroad in 1883.
It was a late-comer to a part of Michigan, 25 miles north of the Ohio border, that was already laced with railroad lines.
East of Moscow belonged to the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern.

 History of The Lake Shore and Michigan Southern
The company became involved and the property was sold to the State of Michigan on June 20, 1844, for the amount of the loan which had been made to the company by the State, and interest thereon, amounting to $22,000.00.
That portion of the line of this company between Sturgis, Michigan and Findley Michigan, 7.19 miles, was leased to the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway Company, in perpetuity, on February 1, 1890, the balance of the line being leased, at the same time, to the Michigan Central Railroad Company.
The line of this company extends from Dundee, Michigan to Allegan, Michigan, 133.14 miles, and that section of the road from Dundee to Homer, 66.58 miles, was leased to the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway Company, in perpetuity, from January 1, 1905.

However, the Prez was amazed that he did not receive a prize for the runner who had come the furthest to run the race.

 Polar Bear Expedition Introduction
Because many of the American troops involved in the intervention were from Michigan, the Michigan Historical Collections has long been interested in documenting this episode.
Public attention was drawn to the expedition in 1929, when two commissions, one appointed by the governor of Michigan and the other organized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the War Department, went to Archangel to recover the bodies of American soldiers buried in Russia.
In 1965, the library published Michigan's Polar Bears, in which Richard Doolen portrayed the experiences of the men who served in Archangel using excerpts from the collections held by the library at that time.

The first search I tried in all three tools was essentially performed with the help of Boolean operators (when supported) to find information on Moscow but to exclude any mentioning of Russia since I was not interested in sites about the Russian capital.
American Factfinder gives a list of 6 cities/towns named Moscow:  Having checked all towns on the list for 2002 population estimates I found out that the biggest US city named Moscow is Moscow city, Idaho and its population in 2002 was estimated 21,674.
Despite my query ‘Moscow -Russia” the search resulted in a few hits (as sponsored links at the top of the search result list) with both words.
