		Within Temptation is a band from the Netherlands.
		The album was well received and the band embarked on a four gig tour across the country, after which they were asked to perform at the Dynamo Open Air festival in Eindhoven, one of the Netherlands' largest heavy metal festivals.
		The band also reported that they were busy working on their next album, due to be released during the fall, and that they would start playing at festivals starting in April, in addition to going on an international tour at the end of the year [2].

		Within Temptation's album "Mother Earth" is like that for me. It is such a bother.
		It's disappointing because Within Temptation seem to be considered a cream-of-the-crop group within their genre, and as I said, I really do want to like them.
		I specify within the review that this is not a definitive rating, it is biased towards my own personal taste, feel free to disagree with me or to check it out contrary to my recommendation, and that I cannot in good conscience or honesty recommend it, because I think it stinks.

		Unlike the album, whose original release was August 21, 2001, the Maxi CD was only released on October 13th 2003, along with a two song single and a DVD+, which is a five song video, plus the five song EP.
		Mother Earth (the album) is a true masterpiece, that has generated more spinoffs than the old Archie Bunker TV show.
		This is the only song since their debut album Enter to have any male guttural vox but it is so low key and very much in the background and for once it really adds something to the equation.

		Within Temptation is a Dutch progressive metal band fronted by the incredible vocal prowess of Sharon den Adel.
		Within Temptation were actually one of the first "similar-to" groups that we identified to explore further—it just took a while.
		The debut album by Within Temptation, despite its markedly harder edge than their later material, is a great introduction to Sharon den Adel and the fine musicianship of the band.

		Within Temptation stays within the confines of that slow, dragging, gloomy approach to their music, adding in some exquisite vocals from Sharon den Adel, who I consider to be one of the best in the genre.
		Lush synths abound on this disc, along with the crunching guitars and growling vocals, and along with the soft, velvet-like vocals of Sharon, allow the listener to imagine a woman dressed in a bright, white flowing dress, engaged in some sort of contact with a fl, shadowy figure.
		Where 'Mother Earth' was an adventurous and challenging listen 'The Silent Force' is easily digested and doesn't hold any lasting appeal.

		After almost four years of waiting for a new album since the brilliant Mother Earth, I am sorry to say that it was so not worth the wait.
		This Within Temptation's album is as much art as a bottle of milk or a candybar.
		And if it was true that Within Temptation with this album wanted to reach specially those who are not fammiliar with gothic metal bands, why are they still playing songs like The Other Half of Me and Candles in their concerts?.

		Add Within Temptation's Sharon Den Adel to the growing list of standout female soprano metal singers, alongside Sandra Schleret (ex-Dreams Of Sanity), Floor Jansen (After Forever), and of course Tarja of Nightwish.
		By contrast, Mother Earth loses the death vocals, brings keyboards to the fore, and in general is far less heavy and more orchestral, inviting comparisons at times to the aformentioned Dreams Of Sanity.
		Within Temptation is a quality band that should only get better as time goes on.

		Although Within Temptation is a highly talented group of musicians, and "Mother Earth" was a ground breaking release, I found it rather boring most of the time.
		Within Temptation is a talented band from Holland or Netherlands if you prefer who's lead singer is Sharon den Adel and she's as pretty as her voice is. There's a video of one of the songs on the album and she's a knockout.
		Is an exelent album, and no one must refuse it, because i think one will never find an album as well produce and written as this.

		Mother Earth was released in 2001 and it's still selling strong around the world.
		Mother Earth is also starting to make waves in the good old US of A as well, apparently by word of mouth, since, to my knowledge, it doesn't get airtime.
		It's really great to hear and see that someone is actually being carefull with out Mother Earth, and not only sing about her, but act for her.

		For an album to sell 100,000 copies in tiny Holland it has to be something special.
		"Mother Earth" starts with lush keyboards and the choir, before the guitars raise the tempo and intensity.
		Within Temptation's distinct sound doesn't compare well with any other bands I can think of but there are similarities to Lacuna Coil (more progressive), After Forever (another great vocalist but male growling - also from Holland), and the English band, Edenbridge.
