		I Mother Earth is a Canadian band that formed sometime around 1990, when brothers Christian and Jagori Tanna joined forces with Edwin, whom they had met a year before through a mutual friend who owned a recording studio.
		I Mother Earth then finished recording their album in Toronto, also using a home studio and their own recording equipment so that they could work independently and at their own pace.
		I Mother Earth were nominated for two Juno Awards on March 9, 1997, including the North Star Album of the Year for Scenery and Fish, and Band of the Year for their over-all achievement; however, they turned out empty-handed this time.

		Mother Earth is the second studio album by the Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation.
		Originally released on August 21, 2001, it quickly became a success in the band's heartland, reaching platinum status in the Netherlands and gold in Belgium, platinum in Germany in addition to achieving TMF/MTV Awards in both countries.
		The album was licensed to be released in Germany and neighbouring countries in January, 2003 as a special extended edition with four bonus tracks.

		Mother Earth got the chance to refine their live show when they took their place on the Funky Nation Tour it was a drink company sponsored affair, which was asking for trouble.
		Shauna's contribution to Mother Earth is still evident as she played an important role in the writing of 'Apple Green' and 'Jesse' two of the bands most popular tracks to this day.
		The problem with this was that Mother Earth were increasingly removed, stylistically from whatever 'the Acid Jazz sound' was, as well as being very fed up with the limitations that a contract with a small, independent label imposed upon them.

		After my initial perplexion at the fact that I had gotten this album and was skipping through songs faster and faster with each minute, after having been so excited about it, I think I've narrowed down a few of the issues that I have with it.
		Otherwise, though, this album is a spiraling pit of suck, out of which the band cannot escape.
		mother earth isn't that bad, some songs like neverending story really keep this record up, you should bitch about the silent force, that's their abomination.

		Mother Earth is also starting to make waves in the good old US of A as well, apparently by word of mouth, since, to my knowledge, it doesn't get airtime.
		The album as a whole uses a lot of 3/4 (and 6/8 and 12/8) time, and this might annoy some listeners who expect their rock in common or half time.
		In "Mother Earth," Within Temptation drops death grunts and growls entirely, playing den Adel's voice solely against the instruments instead of having her duel the growls.

		Unlike the album, whose original release was August 21, 2001, the Maxi CD was only released on October 13th 2003, along with a two song single and a DVD+, which is a five song video, plus the five song EP.
		This is the only song since their debut album Enter to have any male guttural vox but it is so low key and very much in the background and for once it really adds something to the equation.
		I think one would be better advised to get the full album in all it's glory but this would be a good place to start if you wanted to see if you liked it enough to pop for the full album.

		The dash between the "Tracy Nelson" and the "Mother Earth" seemed deliberate, as though to suggest that the group consisted of two equally important elements, the vocalist and the band.
		Wounded Bird, while keeping the original cover, has designed a package which clearly suggests that this is a Tracy Nelson solo ENTITLED "Mother Earth." That is an unfortunate error, one that Tracy herself would certainly have pointed out had she been involved at all in the packaging of the re-release.

		The album's opening track is "Restless" which was released as a single backed with "Pearls Of Light" and the classical version at the time of Enter's release in April 1997.
		The debut album by Within Temptation, despite its markedly harder edge than their later material, is a great introduction to Sharon den Adel and the fine musicianship of the band.
		Tolkien-like is the atmosphere of the new video "Mother Earth" too, recorded in Sweden, and it looks more professional than the somewhat primitive video of "Ice Queen", who brought hit-status to the group however.

		There are very few bands that can produce an acid-jazz (that was the term when this came out, although I don't really know if it fit, the term came from a label anyway) album this complete, this easy on the ears and the soul.
