	Mother Love Bone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Mother Love Bone, was established in 1989 in the Seattle area by ex-Green River members Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Bruce Fairweather.
		Their unique fusion of glam and punk rock music became the prototype for what is now known as grunge, which enjoyed enormous success during the early 1990s.
		Along with such prominent bands as Soundgarden, The Melvins, Alice In Chains and Nirvana, Mother Love Bone became part of what came to be known as the "Seattle Sound" in the late '80s.

	Mother Love Bone
		MLB was formed in 1988 by Stone Gossard (guitar), Jeff Ament (bass) after Green River broke up.
		When other Seattle bands were releasing singles and EPs of hard garage grunge, Mother Love Bone had their sights set on the arenas, making a grandiose heavy metal that recalled Zeppelin and Aerosmith with a slight punk fervour; in a sense, the band was a response to Guns N' Roses' sleazy guitar boogie.
		Wood was a modern-day hippie, preaching love and understanding, as well as a healthy dose of sex.

		'Mother Love Bone' is made all the more special given that it is the only recording the band ever made, before they befell such a tragic end.

		Wood (who was previously known as Landrew the Love Child as a member of another Seattle outfit, Malfunkshun) was the complete opposite of the prototypical Seattle frontman as he patterned his look and vocal style after such renowned frontmen as Freddie Mercury, Paul Stanley, and Marc Bolan.
		In addition, the epic Mother Love Bone song "Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns" was included on the hit soundtrack to the movie Singles the same year.
		Besides Gossard and Ament, the other surviving members of Mother Love Bone have subsequently issued recordings as part of other bands, as well (Fairweather with Love Battery and Gilmore with a host of others, including Carrie Clark, Doghead, etc.).
