I was very excited to see the Motorola MPx200 finally released in the US a couple of months ago, and was thrilled when Microsoft provided a review unit for me to evaluate.
The MPx200 runs the SmartPhone 2002 operating system, and may be upgraded to the Windows Mobile 2003 for SmartPhone OS in 2004--but those are just rumors, and you really can't count on being upgraded.
One of the reasons that am using the MPx200 instead of the Nokia 3650 is the awesome way the OS allows you to quickly dial someone by spelling their name or starting their number on the keypad.

I’ve been in the market for a new phone for most of the last month, and I settled on the Motorola MPx200 early last week.
The MPx200 run Microsoft’s ”Smartphone 2002” software, a pared-down version of their PocketPC/Windows CE operating system.
Motorola refers to the battery that comes with the MPx200 as a “slim battery,” implying that a longer-life model is available, but they don’t list it on their website, so I doubt that it actually exists.

Motorola were kind enough to supply me with a Motorola MPx200 Smartphone for review purposes over a week - and I have to send it back today, so it's high time to get the review out!
The MPx200 from Motorola is a "Windows Mobile" device - note the lack of 2003 at the end of that quote, because it means that it's not running the latest Windows Mobile 2003 OS for Smartphone - but rather the older Smartphone 2002.
In addition to the MPx200 unit and cables, a manual and a leather case with belt clip were supplied.

I have had the the Motorola MPx200 since the first day it hit the United States, and had thoroughly researched the phone several months before acquiring it.
The Motorola MPx200 is available only through AT&T Wireless, which has been my carrier for 6 years and I haven't had a problem with them yet.
The MPx200 has a 176 x 220 pixel internal vivid color TFT display which provides an enormous viewing area and also sports a 96 x 32 pixel two line external display which shows caller ID, date & time, plus status icons at a glance.
