		Motorways are highways designed to carry a large volume of traffic where a normal road would not suffice or would be unsafe, usually between cities.
		Motorway junctions are usually given a number, indicated in the UK and Republic of Ireland with a white number of a fl background in the corner of signs approaching that junction.
		Motorways are also commonly used for ring roads around cities or bypasses of built-up areas.

		This overlooks the fact that journey times are still shorter for those who do share cars and since at least two people would have to be in each of the 1,600 cars basic maths suggests it is a more efficient way to transport people, if not move cars.

		This tiny fragment of urban motorway was originally intended to be one side of a network of similar routes, however the other sections and connecting roads were never built.
		The central motorway is a nightmare in the city centre which we can thank 1960's planners for.
