Maldon is one of eight towns in the region to receive mobile phone coverage as part of a joint initiative between Telstra and the Commonwealth Government to improve telecommunication services to regional Australian towns.

The silver lining in all of this, is simply the fact that there was a plan which was still relevant and ready to go, hence we were now able to get an application in and now miss out on lodging an application.
As pointed out by Vic Roads, out of 9 Shires in the Region, only 3 had plans to be included in the Vic Roads submission.
The plans on the table outlined works/maintenace works on 3 sections of the 2 arterial roads, which are the responsibility of Vic Roads, which currently have bike lanes.

The Friends of Campbells Creek has received funding from the Dept of Sport and Recreation to construct the trail along the Campbells Creek between Winters Flat and Campbells Creek township.The trail will provide a safe alternative to the highway for children riding to school to either Winters Flat Primary or Campbells Creek Primary School.
The Friends Group are working with Mt Alexander Shire Council to finalise the alignment.
Bicycle Victoria attended a meeting to determine how to implement the project and ongoing maintenance expenses.
