Mount Warning itself represents the original neck of the volcano which, being more resistant (comprising syenite, gabbro and monzonite) than the surrounding basalt and rhyolite, remains as an isolated plug.
The intrusive rocks of the Mount Warning mountain mass are isolated from the remaining parts of the volcanic shield by a broad, deep valley, eroded below the level of the lowest basalts to expose the basement of Palaeozoic and Mesozoic rocks.

Barney and his sister remained with his father in Boise, but he frequently visited his mother in New York, where he was exposed to contemporary art.
Barney’s dedication and originality were recognized by other students at Yale, who convinced the school to allow Barney to participate in the program of its highly-regarded graduate School of Art while still an undergraduate.
She was unable to schedule an exhibition for Barney until the fall of 1991, but her son Stuart Regen, an art dealer in Los Angeles, held a show of Barney’s work at his Regen Projects gallery in May 1991.

Barney was again exchanged, after which he joined a privateer which sailed for France and, on her return, took a valuable prize and reached Philadelphia in 1779.
Barney led the boarders who boarded the Molly and was placed in command of one of the prizes, but the next day they were all retaken by the Intrepid, a frigate of seventy-four guns.
Barney was buried in the First Presbyterian Church cemetery in Pittsburg, but his body was afterward removed to the Allegheny cemetery, in a circular enclosure which was called "Mount Barney," and at the head of the grave there was erected a modest stone shown in the frontispiece.
