The first strategic baiting program for Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area gets underway this week in an effort to reduce the impact of foxes in the Recreation Area and surrounding properties.
"The concept of a group baiting program was established to protect biodiversity within the immediate area of the Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area and to reduce the potential damage to agricultural enterprises like lamb and horticulture systems, due to fox predation and impacts." Mr Neville said.
NPWS Central West Regional Manager Nick Rigby said the establishment of a fox control program for Mount Canobolas was an important step in the management of the Recreation Area.

As a resident of Old Canobolas Road, I find it most interesting to hear that Cabonne Council has a piggy bank of $161 million to spend on roads.
For almost 20 years now I have complained to council about the state of Old Canobolas Road only to be told there is no money to upgrade it and definitely not to seal it.
This road is one of the two most widely used to reach the summit of Mount Canobolas which I believe is the number one tourist attraction in the area.

HD is currently being broadcast from Mount Canobolas - Orange from both the ABC (SD upconverted to 1080i) after 7pm, and from SBS (SD upconverted to 576p).
Win is now broadcasting HD, on channel 80 from Orange (Mt Canobolas) currently its the hd demo loop, but according to the sources content will start early july...orange always ahead of wagga hey mark....
