Mount Carmel was a small town at the intersection of Farm Road 2015 and an unnamed highway, south of Pinedale Lake, north of Driscoll Lake, and three miles west of Winona in north central Smith County.
In 1884 the population of Mount Carmel was 370, and the town had a barber, a beekeeper, two wagonmakers, and three cotton gins with gristmills.
Mount Carmel no longer existed by the 1930s, as it was not shown on the 1936 county highway map.

This photo is mounted on the gravestone of Julia Petta and shows the "incorruptible" state of her body after she was exhumed.
Late-night travelers on the nearby street say that this women appears to wander across the cemetery and that she seems to be wearing a glowing bridal gown.
Julia's grave is located near the old cemetery gate and is easily recognizable thanks to the life-size stature of her on top of the monument.

The original cemetery in Cole's Addition was sold and the bodies buried there were transferred to the new cemetery Mount Carmel.

Carmel Cemetery is located in the Hillside Township of Chicago, off the 294 Interstate.
He was taken back to Chicago and laid to rest in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in the "Family Plot" of other Capone's.
Not too many pictures were taken at this cemetery but we captured this one, which we found quite odd.

Mount Carmel is the oldest Catholic Cemetery in Toledo, originally known as Saint Mary and Saint Frances de Sales Cemetery.
In the 1930s revisions were made, including the addition of 30-40 acres of ground space and a beautiful new grotto.
It was then renamed and concecrated Mount Carmel Cemetery on Nov 01, 1936.

 Haunting Eyes Photos
This photo was taken at Mount Carmel Cemetery here in Paducah, KY, after midnight, on September 9th.
The distance also played a crucial part in determining a final call, from where I was sitting, if I had taken a photo of a passing or sitting car the tail lights would not have showed up that close in the photo, they would have been extremely far away.
There was no similarity, and of course no 'red glow' as they were parked.....and another thing that kept nagging at me was the shape of the 'eyes' in the cemetery photos...cat like, human shape, not round or square like a vehicles.
