(a maker of pneumatic chucks) and produced an interesting and useful "Multi-cut" production lathe of American origin from the Reid Brother's Company of Massachusetts.
The headstock was backgeared with engagement by a wheel on the front that disengaged a small gear on the spindle from a surrounding internally geared sleeve with a second control at the back of the headstock that slid the bronze drive gears into mesh with the steel spindle gears.
