		Created in 1971, the park covers over 800 acres and is owned by Cornwall County and Plymouth City Councils.
		Mount Edgcumbe has been famous since the 18th Century for its landscape and gardens.
		Miraculously the walls of his red stone Tudor House survived a direct hit by bombs in 1941 and it was restored by the Earl of Edgcumbe between 1958-64.

		Edgecumbe's brother, George, 1st earl of Mount Edgecumbe (1721-1795), was a naval officer who saw a great deal of service during the Seven Years' War.
