		The students were selected for the Mount Oread Scholars Program because they graduated in the top 20 percent of their high school classes and received ACT composite scores of 28 to 30 or SAT scores of 1,240 to 1,330.
		At the top of Mount Oread, the scholars were welcomed to breakfast at KU's Spencer Research Library by Stella Bentley, KU's new dean of libraries, and William J. Crowe, Spencer librarian.
		Mount Oread (pronounced "OR ee ad") is the name given to the ridge above the Kaw River on Aug. 1, 1854, by New Englanders settling Lawrence.
