		The official name of the mountain is Mount John Laurie but it has always been referred to as Mt. Yamnuska or "YAM".
		The cliff gives the mountain its name, Yamnuska is a native term meaning "Wall of Stone." Yam is popular with rock climbers because its cliff face offers almost every level of difficulty known to the sport.
		Yamnuska has many trails, but the easiest way of reaching the top is by taking the trail that leaves the north side of the rock quarry then heads east.

	Mount Yamnuska
		Mount Yamnuska is a dramatic limestone uplift located at the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains east of Canmore, and across the Bow River from Seebe just off of the Trans Canada Highway.
		History: It was officially named Yamnuska until 1961, and was a Stoney word to describe the cliffs.
		In 1961 the Stoneys requested it be renamed to Mount John Laurie to honour John Laurie, a Teacher, and the founder of the Indian (First Nations) Association of Alberta.
