 The Mickey Mouse "Universe" Guide
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The Mouseton area is the center of the Mouse universe as originally developed by Floyd Gottfredson.
The name "Mouseton" was apparently originated by Disney Comics for new stories in 1990, but has been used in "recap" panels for serialized Gottfredson stories reprinted since then.
The division of the Disney Studio in Mouseton is treated as a live-action studio at which Mickey occasionally works with an acting troupe, thus Ôexplaining' his appearances in films.

Gemstone has just officially announced (through the medium of a missive to the Disney Comics Mailing List) that this title, along with Donald Duck and Friends and the two pocket-books (Donald Duck Adventures and Mickey Mouse Adventures) is being discontinued "for the time being." These "temporary" cancellations have a nasty habit of becoming permanent.
Mickey locates the hero's cloud-bound lair (with the help of Goofy, whom the Wasp had hired as a gardener), and, donning a spare cape and cowl which ever-so-conveniently fit him, he "buzzes off" to fill in as best he can.
On Mars, Mickey and the wayward Wasp join forces to cobble together a workable space vehicle (see what I mean about all this being "childish"?) and finally return to Earth in time to stop McBoo and Idgit from reducing Mouseton to rubble with missile attacks.

 Scarpa's map of calidornia
He uses Topolinia (Mouseton) as a hime town for the Mice characters (Mickey, Goofy, Ellsworth, Clarabelle,...), as Floyd Gottfredson used to (he first called it Mouseville), Paperopoli (Duckburg), for the Ducks' (Donald, Scrooge, Brigitta,...), as Barks did.
Mickeyville means Mouseton, Donaldville is Duckburg (in the Duck Tales TV series, it was called Canarville), and Zoiville/Zoieville is the French for Goosetown.
Anyway, in the original Italian version of the story, the third city's name isn't Goosetown (Ocopoli/Ocaville) but "Giuncavilla", whicht means "Junkville", the place where Bucky Bug lived in the Silly Symphonies comic strips from the 1930's).

On a panel, we can see a map which shows the places of the two cities : Duckburg seems to be next to San Diego, while Mouseton seems to be next to New Orleans.

Butch the Bulldog   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-09)
Since Butch does wear a collar, it is likely that someone in Mouseton actually owns him, however, to my knowledge, this has never been revealed.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Fifi the Peke, Dinah the Dachshund, Ronnie the St. Bernard puppy, Figaro the Kitten, Morty & Ferdie and Hunky are all familiar with Butch.
While it does lend to common storylines featuring Pluto and the Dog Catcher, it would seem that, in the Disney Universe, leash laws are not as stringently enforced, since Butch, Fifi, Dinah, Ronnie and even Pluto regularly meander throughout the neighborhood of Mouseton.

Petrucha manages to sustain his premise most of the way, but it breaks down when Marty gives the reason why he and his "Mouseton doppelganger" cohorts, who originally inhabited a distorted world on the other side of a magic mirror, want to invade Mickey's Mouseton in the first place.
Marty claims to be frustrated by life in a world "where everything is bent out of shape!".
Questionable as this twist is to me, it still trumps the goings-on in Mark Shaw and Bancells' Donald Duck story "Ring Thrice and I'll Clobber You, My Lad", wherein Donald and Daisy, to put it bluntly, spend a good deal of the time beating the crap out of each other.

 Ellsworth
He has virtually disappeared from USA comics, but he sure enlivened a lot of stories in the period when Mickey was quite boring.
More recently, Italian writer and artist, Romano Scarpa, took on the character of Ellsworth (called Gancio in Italy), and, like he did for many Gottfredson creations (Eega Beeva, Doctor Einmug, etc.) gave him new life in Mouseton.
His Italian introduction begins in "Pippo e il ritorno di Gancio" ("Goofy and the Return of Ellsworth") from "Topolino" #367 (Sep. 12, 1962), where his character is revived by writer Abramo Barosso and artist Giulio Chierchini.

It is also occasionally identified as Duckburg, but the Mickey Mouse stories in which Donald Duck participates are so rare that they probably ought to be called crossovers.
