		Mudhoney is a grunge band, formed in Seattle in 1988.
		Mudhoney's partial success led to a number of other Seattle bands, such as Soundgarden, Nirvana and Tad, gaining some recognition.
		Mudhoney was an inspiration and influence on many musicians, including Kurt Cobain.

		Though Mudhoney never scored the big payday some of their fellows did, their importance on the Seattle scene cannot be underestimated, and their body of work - big, loud, purposefully sloppy, a little bit menacing, and sometimes even funny - has stood the test of time.
		In the wake of Mudhoney's success, a number of other Sub Pop acts began making big noise on college radio and the indie club circuit, including Soundgarden, Tad, the Fluid, and a trio of Melvins fans from Aberdeen, WA, called Nirvana.
		Mudhoney toured like crazy and spawned several side projects (including Monkeywrench and Bloodloss), but eventually began to wind down in 1999 when original bassist Matt Lukin decided that it was time to go.
