Mudvayne churns out the same angst-ridden adrenaline-pushers that have been raging out of "alternative rock" stations since Limp Bizkit came on the scene a decade ago.
Few of Mudvayne's other tunes had any down time at all, and the night henceforth was reduced to the same attention-getting techniques -- repetitious bass drum blast-offs; chugging, metrically precise guitar riffs; excessive profanity (of this, I'm guilty too; see first paragraph), dramatic stop-starts that ceased being dramatic the second time around.

mudvayn's big songwriting device is the old nirvana strategy: vulnerability in verses, ape-shit aggression in the choruses and a pregnant moment in between, when you hear the voice cracking with the swell of adrenalin.
The interesting thing about mudvayne is that some of them are fancy musicians: bassist ryknow has got jazz fusion somewhere in his background, and the band uses disquieting sounds and spoken words to form collages that are clearly influenced by, and better than, the ones on slipknot's second album.
Mudvayne have now set "L.D. 50" as the title for their upcoming Epic Records debut album which was recently pushed back to an August 22nd release.

It's possible that Mudvayne simply couldn't come up with a new look for this album, and it's also possible that they realized that wearing masks is no longer "cool".
I gather that this was Mudvayne's attempt to break into the mainstream and appeal to a wider audience.
Mudvayne could only compete in terms of evolving as a band, and what that meant was creating more "radio friendly" songs like "Happy?" However, I rate this album only 3 stars as I personally cannot stand it.

I speak of course of Mudvayne, a band with a penchant for crushing, "aggro" riffs, combined with complexity and eclecticism that helps them to stand out from the herd.
I remember the first time I saw Mudvayne in 2000 and at the time I was putoff by the silly get up and stage names and I just assumed that they where another lame Slipknot type band and never thought any more of them.
Mudvayne has a flair for complexity and dramatic, theatric structure that other bands in the category simply lack.

When I first heard of Mudvayne and saw their pictures, I thought that they couldn't be good at all.

 Mudvayne : Lost and Found - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Overall a great album, however, the problem with Mudvayne is that they give you a bunch of great songs on the first part of the cd, but the second half is just average.
I don't think Lost and Found is their best, but it is still worth a listen if you're a fan.
Mudvayne respectively did not change there distinctive sound, like heard in "not falling", and "dig".

It states on the packaging that it has been unaltered and the reason for it being re-released is 'an effort byt Mudvayne to protect our fans from being taken advantage of in the future...
As for the music, it's easy to tell that it's Mudvayne but the general sound is a lot more rough than the L.D. 50 album although I guess this is to be expected from a demo.
The track L.D.50 is all the interludes from the album rolled into one 17 minute track, I must admit I usually skip it on my CD player but it's still worth a listen.
