The freshman says he launched Mugglenet (in the Potter books and movies, Muggles are people without magical abilities) when he was 12 and just starting home-schooling.
Spartz says Mugglenet has given him "a little experience" in business management, which he intends to study at Notre Dame while continuing to work on the website.

A Little About Me: MuggleNet was born a month after I began homeschooling as a 12-year-old in the fall of 1999.
I was hired to work on MuggleNet in February 2006, and began as one of the "gallery minions".
Aside from the MuggleNet part of my life, I also love to spend time with my family and friends, taking silly pictures, watching Disney movies with them and boring them to death with random snippets of Harry Potter trivia.

The site has been around forever, is an AMAZING stop for Potter fans, Emerson (who runs it) should be given, I don't know, the Young Person's E-Enterprise Award for what he's done with it (plus he's a sweetie as is his whole family), and I am very glad it's been given a much-deserved FSA.
No offense, The-leaky-cauldron, but Mugglenet is a MUCH better source for news than you are.
I then went, discouraged, to mugglenet to try to tell them about it, and I was glad to see...they actually had it posted already!

Mugglenet was one of the first HP sites I came to (Anyone remember Jenna's Unoffical site?).
The side features are good, though it's a pity their original column writers have stopped writing; the newer ones aren't as good, IMO.
And about that no-slash thing others were complaining about: speaking as one of the main problem-makers at Mugglenet's forums (if I may say so myself), there's a good reason slash isn't allowed.

Mugglenet was the first site I really spent some time on and from there I learned about HPANA.
Like Mugglenet has all the pics and funny stuff, while HPANA has all the important updates and stuff.
Thats great mugglenet got the recognition, it is a great site that everyone knows, and Rowling obviousley likes it :) Wounder what she said in the poll...hmm...
