HYDROTHERMAL ALTERATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE PLIOCENE MUINE VOLCANO AND BASE-METAL MINERALIZATION AT THE TOYOHA DEPOSIT, ...
Muine volcano, a Pliocene calc-alkaline andesite volcano in northeast Japan, is characterized by a composite volcanic body associated with phreatic craters and landslide and debris flow deposits.
The Muine zone includes relatively low (9 to17 per mil) and high (23 to 31 per mil) value alunites, which are interpreted to have formed in magmatic-steam and magmatic-hydrothermal environments, respectively.
The different hydrothermal mineral assemblages and environments of the Muine, Toyoha and Yunosawa zones are interpreted to have formed by immiscible vapor and brine exsolved from shallow-level (2-3 km deep) magmatic intrusions beneath the Muine volcano.

I've fallen in love with two apps in particular: Muine is my new music player of choice, and F-Spot is without a doubt the neatest digital photo organizer I've ever used.
Both Muine and F-Spot are available in Ubuntu's Universe repository, which houses packages that aren't officially part of the distribution.
Muine doesn't work that way: It stores the art it has grabbed in a single database file that only Muine knows how to read.

So a couple of weeks ago I decided that I had seen enough screenshots of how awesome the Muine user interface looks and how it seems to be, in general, quite an interesting music player.
Remember, this project was only begun in 2001, and already has a nice assortment of applications built upon it that have truly innovated in their approaches to the problems they are meant to solve.
Needless to say, I was quite disappointed that after all this time and effort, muine refused to run even though it compiled cleanly, which can be the case at times, a program compiling fine isn't the same as a program running fine, and I do overclock my system, so maybe something was b0rked.

Studying Estonian here at the university is eating a lot of my time (god, this language is complicated- but it's great fun!), but I hope to be able to get some Muine work done in my weekends.
However, debugging audio backends is not my focus with Muine - my focus is the interface, and the interface should work well.
I am a big fan of the whole GStreamer project and I intend to switch back as soon as I think it is ready- however, I don't think it is quite there yet.

As muine (and blam which has problems as well) both behave when GC_DONT_GC=1 is exported, this is clearly (to me) a GC problem related to the change in GC from beta1 -> beta2.

I'd like the muine package[1] to be removed from testing because it is too outdated (0.5.3, May 2004) and the new version in sid (0.6.3, August 2004) won't be migrating for some time.
This is due to it depending on mono which has a fair set of problems at present.
