Since mid-May, Muktidham which sits on the banks of the holy Saraswati River about 100 kilometers (60 miles) from Ahmedabad, has broadcast 15 to 20 funerals over the Internet.
Yet costly travel and the immediacy of Hindu cremations after death mean that families are often either caught unawares or out of pocket, when considering their duty to the dead.
Now a well-placed Webcam at Muktidham is proving to traverse any distance between mourners and the ceremony.

Muktidham, a modern-day crematorium known for the ambience and facilities it offers, plans to install a camera near one of its seven pyres on June 14, and, on request, transmit via Internet live images of last rites being performed.
For a modern crematorium, Muktidham doesn’t have an electric furnace.
The trust plans to have the camera installed near pyre closest to the platform on which bodies are washed before cremation.

Anyway, Lyla, this is good place though I don’t force anybody esp.foreigners, Shirdi, Trimbakeshwar, Muktidham mandir like places give peace of mind which is rare to get these days.
myself being from new delhi,found nasik to be a small but peaceful city...i was in nasik for a period of 6 months...june-december,working for siemens..but during those 6 months...i explored the whole of nasik...rite frm muktidham upto wani..and not to forget nasik’s happening place’’college road’’

A commercial complex has been earmarked at the site of Shankarsheth Road while a fire engine shed is slated to come up in the complex of the Fire Brigade off Shankarsheth Road.
