Mithi's refusal to accept the Indo-Naga political conflict for the past more than 50 years is a denial of fundamental rights, not only to the Nagas of Changlang and Tirap district in particular but also to the whole Nagas in general.
Mithi was able to purchase the Khaplang boys and its Commander of the operation incharge of Tirap and Changlang District namely, self-style Lt. Col.
The NSCN urged Mithi not to misuse his good-will office to victimize the Nagas and the Christians with draconian acts, which is against human rights.

The Congress(I) government in Arunachal Pradesh led by Mukut Mithi was reduced to a minority on July 27 when 34 legislators quit the party to join hands with former Chief Minister Gegong Apang and floated a new political platform, the United Democratic Front.
Mithi stated that he would not accept Apang's claim to chief ministership and that there should be a trial of strength on the floor of the House.
This made Mithi incur the displeasure of the NSCN(I-M) and the BJP-led NDA government, which is at present on cordial terms with Isaac Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah, the rebel leaders who are now in exile in Bangkok.

The saddest part of the story is that Mithi Government is treating the Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh as alien.
Mithi has violated the citizen's right to use any denomination of Indian currencies; this will only help in alienating the people of Tirap and Changlang from the national mainstream.
