	MultiMate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		MultiMate is a word processor developed by Softword Systems Inc. (later renamed Multimate International) for IBM-PC MS-DOS computers in the early 1980s.
		MultiMate was not marketed heavily to end-users, but was quickly popular with insurance companies, law firms and other business computer users.
		MultiMate's greatest advantage was that it allowed companies to easily replace dedicated Wang Word Processor workstations with PCs, with an order of magnitude reduction in cost.

		Get rid of the Wordstar and migrate to something newer, like MultiMate version 4.
		MultiMate was decent, but not very elegantly implemented.

		I don't know if you got an answer yet to your multimate advantage question, but one way you can do the converts, though it isn't so preferable, perhaps, is to get WordPerfect, convert into their format using their Convert utility, then output the file from WordPerfect in ASCII, or Convert once again into DIF format.
		In retrospect, it is obvious that the recent stock market crash (Black Monday) was obviously foretold by the failure of your harddrive.
