  Multicore Association
The Multicore Association is tackling the most critical roadblocks for developing multicore- enabled systems.
The Multicore Association supports the multicore ecosystem and includes vendors of processors, operating systems, compilers, development tools, debuggers, ESL/EDA tools, simulators, as well as application and system developers.
Become a member of The Multicore Association today, and don’t let the multicore revolution leave you behind.

Multicore-Expo Solutions for Multicore & Multiprocessing Designs
As chairman of the Multicore Expo, I have a responsibility to the HPC and Embedded design communities to assemble the multicore technology experts and provide you, the conference attendee, with answers to your questions.
Oddly enough, I also hope that you take away from the conference more questions than you started with, as that means that we’ve enlightened you on the issues that you’ll need to be aware of as you begin your multicore-enabled design.
The Multicore Expo is also loaded with exhibits and demos that are 100% focused on multicore implementations.

What's New in Mathematica 5.2: Multicore Support
Multicore chips have more than one CPU core; multiple-processor computers have more than one CPU chip.
Both are being introduced by manufacturers to speed up tasks by splitting threads or processes among different processors so that they can be performed in parallel.
The results show speed-ups of four to eight times faster on the multicore machine.

  Dr. Dobb's | Embedded Multicore Needs Communications Standards | November 1, 2006
Regardless of the implementation, however, multicore systems can be classified according to their memory architectures and their communication mechanisms.
In other words, to meet the stringent demands of the single-chip (or otherwise closely distributed) multicore platform, the APIs may draw upon concepts implemented in the traditional protocols (programming models, semantics, and so forth), which were originally intended for large-scale computing platforms, but within the resource constraint of an embedded multicore system.
Some of the features the Multicore Association is considering for the APIs include making the source-code portable and reusable so the architecture can be processor independent and enabling implementations to be scalable for messaging performance and memory footprint.

 Multicore Processor Licensing
Multicore processor systems licensed on a per-processor basis will also help make this new enterprise computing technology affordable to mid-size and small business customers.
Microsoft is moving in parallel with hardware technology innovation to ensure that customers have the appropriate information to budget and plan for their business needs as multicore technology becomes available.
So if a customer replaces the single-core processor on their system with a multicore processor, they will need to have only one license per processor.
