	Concurrency (road) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Multiplex (and the more specific terms duplex and triplex) is a neologism, albeit well-used, used by roadgeeks for this concept, as an extension of other meanings of the term.
		The practice is relatively common; where two roads must pass through a single geological feature, or crowded city streets, it is advantageous for road designers to merely divert them down the same road, saving on the cost of a new road.
		Only one road number (typically that of the more heavily used route) is ever shown on road signs however; the other road is either bracketed on the sign, implying that the major route leads to a junction with the minor route (which it will do at the end of the concurrency), or left off altogether.

		SR 212 may seem like the longest road to be largely in the middle of nowhere, but hunters across Georgia see it differently as some of the best deer hunting in Georgia can be found in the Piedmont Plateau region around Milledgeville.
		The portion between SR 36 and SR 142 in Newborn is still known as "County Road 213", though it is a street name and not signed with a county route marker.
		In 1972, the route was made twice as long as it was multiplexed for two miles with SR 142 and then extended along present Little River and Godfrey Roads, which brought the route into Putnam County.

		I'd read this article today and was wondering how people see the direction society will be taking over the next couple of decades.
		I can definitely see "The Road Warrior" scenario coming to fruition and I'm amazed how well it was done by concentrating on the automobiles (transportation), the oil (energy), the communal system (hoarding and protecting of food and fuel) and the rest.

		The new multiplex movie theater near the corner of Shiloh Road and Benner Pike is officially in the works, leaving plans for a multi-million dollar cinema in downtown State College unclear.
		Michael Ross, president of United Entertainment Corporation, said State College is ideal for a multiplex theater because of its size and close proximity to Penn State's campus.
