Mungyeong is located in the far northwest of Gyeongsang buk-do.
The city consists of the urban area of Jeomchon (about 40-45 thousand people), plus several small towns (Nong-an, Kaeul, Sanyang, Yeongsun, as well as "old Mungyeong" (Mungyeong-eup.) When the city was formed it was given the name Mungyeong, even though the city hall, main business and population center is located in Jeomchon.
But in using public transport, tickets to Mungyeong will take you to "Old Mungyeong." To get to the main population center of Mungyeong-shi, you'd buy a ticket to Jeomchon.

A nearly 70-year-old farmer in a rural village in North Gyeongsang Province has finally passed the formally written section of his driver’s license examination on the 272nd attempt.
The North Gyeongsang Provincial Police Agency’s Driver’s License Examination Office in Mungyeong announced Thursday that Seo Sang-moon, who had applied for the academic part of the examination 272 times since August 2000, passed the examination conducted Tuesday afternoon.
Seo reminisced, “Being a repairman traveling around North Gyeongsang and Gangwon provinces, the driver’s license was a necessity, but I did not dare apply for the written examination because I am illiterate.

As of 7 p.m., Daejeon had received 49 centimeters of snow, the highest figure for a single day in March since records began in 1904, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said.
About 32 centimeters fell in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province and 29.5 centimeters in Buyeo, South Chungcheong Province while the North Gyeongsang province cities of Mungyeong, Sangju and Andong received respectively 43.5, 27, and 17.6 centimeters, the KMA said.
Weather officials forecast the country will receive up to 30 centimeters of more snow by Saturday morning but the central regions will see no more snow after Friday night.

Does "everyone is lying to me" count as a "critical eye?" I guess I could find a local university with Jstor access.
I'm afraid not, the only copy I've seen was at my university library and if you want a copy but can't find it, you will most likely have to buy a custom print of it ($$$).
If none of those options are available, then at the very least remember to keep a critical eye when reading popular history.
