Munir Bashir - Arabic: منير بشير‎ among other transcriptions – (1930 [?] Mosul, Iraq – September 28, 1997 Budapest, Hungary) was a famous Assyrian musician and especially a style-creating virtuoso of the Arabian short scaled lute, the oud.
Munir Bashir was born in Mosul, situated in northern Iraq.
Munir Bashir died of heart failure in 1997 in Budapest, a short time before his planned departure to his Mexican tour.
