Munshi is a degree in South Asia, that is given after passing a certain course of basic reading, writing, and math etc. The advanced degree was Munshi Fazil or Munshi Fadhil.
Munshi is also a title that a graduate of Munshi course is allowed to attach to his name.
Munshi is a Persina word and it was given as an honourary title to a person who has achieved a mastery over langauges, especially in British India.

December 13: JMB militants, Ataur Rahman alias Sunny, the 'operations commander' and younger brother of the outfit’s chief Shaikh Abdur Rahman, and Fariduzzaman Swapan, are arrested from the Tejgaon area of capital Dhaka.
