The area of Muránska planina, in the districts of Brezno, Revúca, and Rimavská Sobota, is being declared for the Muránska planina National Park (hereafter „the National Park").
The maps, showing the borders of the National Park, and its preserved belt, are stored at the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic, at Regional Office in Banská Bystrica, at District Office in Brezno, at District Office in Revúca, and at District Office in Rimavská Sobota.
The Order of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak socialist Republic No. 9/1977 Coll., which declares Muránska planina preserved country area, in wording of the Act of the Slovak National Council No. 287/1994 Coll.

The magnificent forests and wide open views as well as the interesting flowers made the walk a day to remember.
The second walk in the late afternoon took us up a valley beside a stream on the north side of the Muránska planina.
Here we saw a number of marsh plants as well as the lovely Lady's-slipper orchid, Cypripedium calceolus.
