Murder, She Said - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Murder, She Said is the first of four films, made by MGM, based, or claimed to be based, on novels by Agatha Christie and starring Margaret Rutherford as Miss Jane Marple, Charles Tingwell as Inspector Craddock and Stringer Davis (Rutherford's real-life Husband) as Mr Stringer.
Undaunted, she calculates that the body must have been disposed of in the grounds of Ackenthorpe Hall (Rutherford Hall in the novel), which adjoins the railway line.
She contrives to obtain a post as housemaid in the Hall and searches for the body - which she finds, of course.

The Harvard Crimson :: News :: Murder (She Said)
Miss Rutherford, you see, observes during the first minute of the movie, a murder on a train running parallel to one on which she is traveling; and naturally enough, her sole object thereafter is to track down the malfeasant.
She, consequently, marches fearlessly to the house where she has traced the skulduggery, and in her most formidable dowager's tweeds, and devastatingly sensible shoes, assumes the post of cook-chambermaid, the better to observe the goings-on.
Miss Rutherford observing is a sight to behold: armed with a No. 4 iron, she prowls the grounds by night; or, tea service in hand, crouches in front of keyholes to listen to suspicious chatter--and all this with the majesty of an ocean-going ship.

She said that before the trial, she repeatedly tried to come clean with Assistant District Attorney George Butterworth and Inspector Napoleon Hendrix, Sanders' partner in the case.
Maluina also testified at trial that she had told Hendrix she was not at the scene of the slaying but that he then had her speak by phone with Fauolo, who got mad at her and told her she was stupid and should tell the truth.

 Murder She Said Review (1961)
Murder She Said, the first of the series, was written by David Pursall and Jack Seddon from David Osborn's adaptation and set the pattern: the indomitable protagonist discovers a murder, and sets out to solve it where the police have failed.
She asks him to accompany her to the side of the railway tracks where she believes the body has been dumped, despite what the police have said, and they find themselves at the perimeter walls of Ackenthorpe Hall.
And so she does, as possibly the world's oldest maid, and is shown around by the daughter of the owner, Emma (Muriel Pavlow) who warns her about her father, played by James Robertson Justice at his most irascible and an excellent foil to Rutherford's busybody.

Achinelli is important to the prosecution's case because she testified Wednesday that Pratt told her of his plan to kill his mother, and then admitted the crime after the deed was done.
But she also is important to the defense's case because of her relationships with both Pratt and Iranpur: She dated both of them in the weeks leading up to the murder.
