 Murderers' Row (1966)
"Murderer's Row": I like that title, but wonder if it refers to the producers who made this waste of film.
That doesn't make it good, but so little in "Murderer's Row" is that their warbling is the highlight.
As for ol' Dino, many of his screen performances have been dismissed by critics as sleepwalking, but most sleepwalkers probably couldn't light a cigarette or hold a glass of bourbon (which Helm doesn't drink but that's a plot device not worth exploring here) with the steadiness Martin displays throughout the Henry Levin directed film.

These days, aside from traveling to a few film festivals to talk about Steve James' Miramax doc about their time in Fiji, "Reel Paradise," the Pierson's have become key figures within the Austin film scene.

James edited the film, sought feedback from the Pierson's, and later John and Janet would work to help clear some of the material in the movie, but the project remains a Steve James film.
At Monday's screening, Pierson praised him saying he wishes Dentler were his own son, adding that SXSW's Louis Black is like a brother to him.

 Amazon.ca: Video: Ambushers, the
There is nothing whatsoever redeemable about the Ambushers, and Murderers' Row is noteworthy simply for the appearance of Ann Margeret and an over-the-top performance as Karl Malden as the villian.
The babe factor is over the top, and the ribald humour of this film makes James Bond seem stilted and serious.
You now have the basic feel for the four Matt Helm movies, of which "The Ambushers" (1967) was the third.

The 1960 World Series was projected as a likely four-game sweep by the Yankees, featuring pitching ace Whitey Ford and a modern-day Murderers' Row of Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Bobby Richardson, Yogi Berra and Moose Skowron.
With the 2005 World Series on the horizon, Law's 1960 highlight film — copied from its original 16mm format to VHS and needing a transfer to DVD — will be pulled out and watched again in his Provo home with family members and friends.
Pittsburgh and the majors seemed a world away for Vernon Sanders Law, a Meridian, Idaho, farm boy and overpowering pitcher who didn't know what a change-up was until he signed with the Pirates in 1948 at age 18.
